H.E. Services receive a Royal call

Boasting a fleet of over 2000 machines and an impressive range of attachments, H.E. Services (Plant Hire) Limited is used to having their machines hired for a variety of interesting projects.

Perhaps none such as prestigious as their latest project, which involves one of their Komatsu PC50MR-2 tracked excavators working on the flowerbeds outside Buckingham Palace, the official London residence of the Queen and Prince Philip.

The project of working on the gardens in the Mall is expected to last around 3 weeks. Created as a ceremonial route in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the Mall is the scene of many royal ceremonies, including the Changing of the Guard.

With an operating weight of just over 5 tonne and excellent all-round visibility, the Komatsu PC50MR-2 is ideal in situations where space is short. Despite its compact size, the PC50MR-2 offers a spacious cab and the Automatic Shift Down system automatically adjusts the hydraulic travel motor to the working conditions.
